Click to make those promo pics above a little bigger, those are of Brothers of the Sonic Cloth, a band that sounds a bit droney and doom metal-y to my ears but hontestly the Chubarama Elves™ do not play a lot of this sort of thing at the Chubarama Mothership™. I'm sure there will be some fans in the comment section below, though, so check out the Myspace and enjoy the daddy bear goodness.

That’s Tad Doyle.
He was the head of one of the original bands signed to Sub Pop in the late 80′s/early 90′s – called Tad.
There was a documentary about his that came out last year, very interesting for anyone into the Seattle scene around that time.

Were you the one who tipped me off to these guys? I know someone had submitted the Myspace link but I misplaced the source.

Looks quite a bit like a younger, less dissipated, Orson Welles in middle age.

True story: Kurt Cobain wrote “Breed” and “Imodium” about Tad Doyle’s constant diarrhea problems. Tad’s a good guy, but I’d never consider him a gay-chub icon of any sort.
