In the study 120 volunteers were given descriptions of four fake politicians along with photos, then asked to rate them on honesty, ability to perform and other criteria. Researchers tallied up the results and found that the obese (not just fat!) men scored 6 percent better than their slim counterparts.

Predictably, the study says the same standard does not apply to women.  Better hit the gym, ladies.  [Gothamist]

Oh, Marko!  Continuing with our Chub of the Year celebrities who received multiple votes (but not enough to get them into the top spots) we have Washington politico Marko Liias.  Marko is one of the most popular politicians we've ever covered, and for being new to the scene and not exactly someone with a ton of name recognition, he's made a very impressive showing this year.

This is the very first time actor Richard Riehle has ever appeared on Chubarama.  Kinda hard to believe, right?  He was popular enough with readers to garner a handful of votes, which is quite good considering we've never had a post devoted to him.  Expect one early in 2010.

Why did perennial favorite Seth Rogen only get a handful of votes this year?  Probably because he's not a chub anymore!  As we've discussed before Seth is currently slimmer while filming his role in the upcoming Green Hornet, but we'll see if he keeps off the pounds in the future.

Do you recognize who that is there in the back?  Why, it's Andrew Zimmern of the Travel Channel.  Andrew was mentioned by quite a few readers for Chub of the Year 2009, and for good reason - the guy takes his shirt off in every other episode of Bizarre World.  Yummy stuff!

Lastly, Kevin James took the biggest hit this year.  After placing 2nd in the 2008 poll, Kevin couldn't even bust into the top 10 in 2009.  We knew Paul Blart: Mall Cop was bad, but was it that bad?

Jesse Connolly, campaign manager for the No on 1 movement in Maine, was on Rachel Maddow last night.  Of course, we here at Chubarama will support same sex marriage anywhere, anytime, but the eye-candy certainly doesn't hurt when it comes to getting our attention.

Omagh councillor Ross Hussey said he was told about his cartoon lookalike by his nephew and a young party colleague.

The Ulster Unionist said he was not flattered but it did amuse him.

"Personally I can see no resemblance, but I have watched it and we would have certain similar traits - that's all I'm prepared to admit to," he said.

Yikes, GOP California state assemblyman Michael D. Duvall has some trouble on his hands, given he was recently caught on a hot mic (always trouble) bragging about his raunchy sexual conquests, with a lobbyist no less. Not good!

The above video has all the details but if you'd like a better look at Duvall we've posted another video after the jump. Hooray for sleazy, silver-haired daddies in suits, yeah? They're like gag-inducing and oddly arousing at the same time.
