One of our team's real world acquaintances recently attended a Philadelphia Phillies home game, and afterward complained that they got stuck with the fat pitcher. Naturally we had to find out who they were talking about. The Phillies currently have a five-man pitching rotation that includes four All-Stars, and Joe Blanton. The fat one. We found a few pictures of the guy and posted the best ones below. He's kind of a hunk. What do you guys think?

Game of Thrones Eye Candy

The new HBO series Game of Thrones got off to a promising start this past weekend. The show is based on George R.R. Martin's epic fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire, set in the fictional realm of Westeros, where the seasons last for years and the word "whore" is used as a verb well and often. In the grand tradition of HBO original programming, the pilot episode was filled with sex, violence, high production values, sex, incest and boobs. Here's hoping we see one of these guys naked in the coming episodes:

Mark Addy, a runner-up for Chubarama's 2010 Chub of the Year, plays King Robert Baratheon in his most rotund and bearish role to date. The character's main goal as monarch of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros is to "eat, drink and whore" his way to an early grave. I want to see the later on screen.

John Bradley-West (aged 21) is a British stage actor and a newcomer to the small screen. He plays the character Samwell Tarley, a member of the Night's Watch, which is a fraternal order of men charged with guarding a massive wall of ice that protects Westeros' northern border. Mr. Bradley-West will make his first appearance in the third episode. We hope to see a lot more of him.

James Corden has World Cup fever

Most Corden and/or soccer/football fans have probably already seen this, but here's Corden with Dizzee Rascal doing their part for the England team. I like the part where James pulls his sleeves up to show off his non-muscles, and the "No Diggity" sample. So there you go. Thanks to the 10000 people who sent this in.

Reminder: “A Matter of Size” is playing in Boston

The great folks at www.menemshafilms.com (who are really good people and friends of Chubarama) would like us to remind everyone that the very-funny "A Matter of Size" is currently playing at West Newton Cinema.

The film tells the story of four overweight friends from the Israeli city of Ramle who are fed up of dieting and the weight loss club they belong to. Herzl (Itzik Cohen) has been struggling with his weight ever since he was young, and his overbearing mother made it no easier on him. His friends Aharon and Gidi struggle with the issue of weight in their personal lives; from fear of losing a spouse to a "thinner" man, to coming out as a gay bear. When Herzl loses his job as a cook and starts washing dishes in a Japanese restaurant, he discovers the world of Sumo, where large people such as them are honored and appreciated.

Through the restaurant owner Kitano (Togo Igawa), a former Japanese Sumo coach (supposedly hiding from the Yakuza in Israel), Herzl and his friends fall in love with a sport involving "two fatsos in diapers and girly hairdos". However, Herzl's dedication to this demanding men-only sport threatens his budding relationship with Zehava, a plus-size social worker. A Matter of Size is a comedy about a 'coming out' of a different kind - overweight people learning to accept themselves.

Graham Elliot Bowles is running the food at Lollapalooza this year

Our #6 on our 2009 Chub of the Year list Graham Elliot Bowles fed the masses at Lolla last year, and now is running the entire operation this year. Anyone going? Get us some pics!

In other news, Graham's new casual spot grahamwich is set to open sometime this spring.

“A Matter of Size” is hitting Boston March 19th

Steve Holcomb is an excellent dancer

As a kind reader pointed out in our previous post about bobsledder Steve Holcomb, this video is quite lovely in many ways, but especially around :40 in when you get a pretty nice view of...well I mean it's tight spandex-y uniforms, you know what we're viewing.

In other news, that's Stephen Colbert also leaving, uh, basically nothing to the imagination in the same scene. Stephen isn't exactly Chubarama material but I'm sure there must be quite a few Chubarama readers who will enjoy the look all the same. You can see some pics of when Colbert and Holcomb met over on Life.com.

Uh...yeah. He's the chunky one in front. And he goes by the name of Steve Holcomb.

Amazing, right? Steve is certainly the breakout start of the 2010 Winter Olympics for fans of men a bit thicker around the middle, although apparently he's been competing since 1998. Enjoy a video after the break.
